Two new civilizations, The Incas and the Swedes, will be included in the remaster, giving players a wider variety of societies to choose from. Long-time AoE fans can expect a few new features from the upcoming definitive edition. The good news is the enhanced graphics pack will be optional, so players with an older computer will still be able to run the game smoothly. It will also take up a good amount of space in comparison to other RTS titles, requiring at least 42 GB.
However, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will push some computers to the limit since it does have some demanding system requirements. Everything from ground textures to unit detail has been digitally enhanced, making the game more realistic than ever. Like most remasters, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition will receive a graphical upgrade, painting the entire game in a brand-new light. Still, newcomers can also purchase the Age of Empires Definitive Collection for around $60 if they want to try the entire series. This is excellent news for Age of Empires fans who already own the previous games. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will also receive a discount on the Windows Store.
The game will cost players $20, though existing owners can pick up a copy at the discounted cost of $15. Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is set to launch on Oct 15th, 2020, for PC, as well as the Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
